While the Los Angeles Rams brought none of their star players even to Ohio for the third preseason game, the Cleveland Browns have a lot of their starters on the field for a couple of series at least. While the “dress rehearsal” is important to get the team ready for the regular season, the Browns are risking injury as well.
On the team’s second offensive series, QB Joe Flacco hit RB Dylan Sampson for a run-after-catch first down but center Ethan Pocic went down on the play. While looking to engage
a blocker, a looper came around and got pushed into Pocic’s lower leg.
OL Wyatt Teller took a knee near Pocic while the training staff attended to him, but Pocic was able to walk off the field:
Center Luke Wypler came in to take Pocic’s place at center as the Cleveland drive ended in a touchdown pass from Flacco to rookie TE Harold Fannin Jr.
Pocic was seen heading back to the locker room as the drive ended.
We will keep you up to date as we have more information on the severity and nature of Pocic’s injury.
