Donte Johnson will still make his UFC debut on Nov. 1, but he’ll do so against a different opponent.
Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that Johnson is now set to face Sedriques Dumas at UFC Vegas 110, which takes place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas. Dumas steps in for Nick Klein, who was removed from the bout for undisclosed reasons.
Johnson earned a UFC contract with a spectacular 64 second knockout of Darion Abbey on Dana White’s Contender Series in
August. The 26-year-old has not seen a second round in his entire pro career to this point, with four of his six wins coming in under 90 seconds.
Dumas returned to the octagon for the first time following an April arrest for home invasion, battery, and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon at Noche UFC in September, where the bout has halted and scored a No Contest after Zach Reese landed an illegal groin shot. Dumas makes his eighth octagon appearance, and looks to improve on his 3-3, 1 NC promotional record.
UFC Vegas 110 is headlined by a featherweight bout between Steve Garcia and David Onama.
