As the Cleveland Browns prepare for the New Orleans Saints, the official injury reports each day look like they will provide a lot of information about how Week 9 will go. On Wednesday, the Browns announced that QB Deshaun Watson was in concussion protocol, with QB Shedeur Sanders likely to start in his place. Along with Watson, four Cleveland starters missed the first practice of the week.
On the other side, the Saints saw WR Jordyn Tyson and OT Kelvin Banks Jr. return to practice with a chance to return from
injured reserve this week.
On Thursday, Watson was not at practice, and DT Maliek Collins was still sidelined, but OT Austin Barber and LB Quincy Williams returned to the practice field in Berea. Some good news for Cleveland’s chances in Week 9, but Collins is a big part of the team’s defensive line.
As we saw last week with OT Tytus Howard, it is possible for a veteran to miss practices and still play against the Saints, but Friday’s participation report could be a huge indicator of Collins’ ability to play.
We will have the full injury report later this afternoon.
Is Barber or Collins a bigger return for the Browns?
