Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany was happy to see his team handle Eintracht Frankfurt 3-0.
Entering the match, Eintracht Frankfurt was considered to be one of the top teams in the league, yet Bayern Munich completely shut Die Adler down.
Not bad, eh?
“We were away it would be a tough away game against a very good attacking team. We showed a good mix between stability and growing into the game. The first half was difficult but it was okay. In the second half we did many things right and created
many chances. It was a very good performance against an opponent that we have a lot of respect for. We can be satisfied,” said Kompany (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Those first 10 games were, well, not shabby (per BFW’s Phillip Quinn):
- Won Supercup
- Won 1 Pokal match
- Win 2 UCL matches
- Won 6 Bundesliga matches
- 38 goals scored across all games
- 7 goals conceded across all games
Kompany, however, is not about to start thinking about the league title just yet.
“No, I try not to focus too much on the last 10 games. I don’t want to focus on anything past the next game. The most important thing for me is that even if you lose one or two games – because it will happen – is that you have the feeling you can still win the next 10 games. We did something close last season, but what we’ve done now is proof that if we stay focused and keep going then this can still happen in the future,” Kompany stated.
Bayern Munich’s away match against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga had all the makings of a dreaded trap game.
The Bavarians were scorching hot, entering a break, and playing against a desperate team coming off of a midweek embarrassment in the Champions League. Everything was lined up for a letdown…until it wasn’t.
Bayern Munich kept up its intensity and did not let anything distract it from the main goal — securing a win. The Bavarians did just that in a 3-0 victory. Let’s get into the nitty gritty of the match. Check out what we have on tap for this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Postgame Show:
