“The Notorious” is ready to prove the doubters wrong.
Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) two-division champion, Conor McGregor, finally returns to action in a rematch against Max Holloway at UFC 329 next month (Sat., July 11, 2026) inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
McGregor has been surprisingly toned down ahead of his return, making very limited media appearances and keeping a relatively low profile on social media. But according to the Irish superstar, that has been by design.
After five years away from active competition, McGregor says he has been locked in behind the scenes.
“I feel great. I feel absolutely amazing,” McGregor told The Mac Life recently. “Stellar. The work has been exceptional. No corners cut. You know, no flash. We’ve been quiet this camp, and we’ve been at work. So, that’s confidence. If there’s a lack of confidence, you need to share things to get this ego boost. We don’t need it. We’ll do it on the night. I’m excited by it. I’m excited by my team and my country.”
McGregor will be fighting at Welterweight for the third time at UFC 329. Holloway, meanwhile, will be making his 170-pound debut after spending most of his legendary career at Featherweight and Lightweight.
And McGregor does not believe Holloway will be ready for his power.
“Listen, there’s a different thud when you fight against me,” McGregor said. “I fought against Max many years ago, and I look forward to my improvements on it…Danger will be everywhere inside the Octagon for Max. We are very aware of him in this gym, in this camp.”
The former double champion has already given his “Mystic Mac” prediction for UFC 329, promising “an absolute demolition” of Holloway in their rematch.
Whether that is vintage McGregor confidence or the final burst of a legend trying to turn back the clock remains to be seen.
Either way, there are only nine days left until the return of Mac.
