The Kentucky Wildcats got their butts kicked Tuesday night as Tom Izzo and the Michigan State Spartans crushed the Cats on both ends of the floor. Maybe worse than that is you could feel the tension on the court between the players and the staff as the beatdown continued.
Well, according to one report, it appears that it bordered on the edge of a meltdown in one instance.
According to ESPN’s Kris Budden, the UK players were “barking at each other” during a timeout in the Champions Classic. Mark Pope
had to step in to get his guys on the same page.
You can look at this a few different ways:
- This shows emotion and offers some hope that this can be turned around.
- This could loom and cause larger issues going forward.
Add this in with the mysterious thing that Pope pointed to before the Louisville game, and things seem to be on thin ice when it comes to emotions in the UK locker room. They’ll have to figure this out fast before it’s too late.
