AEW Grand Slam Australia (Feb. 14, 2026) was a rough night for Andrade El Idolo. Hangman Page stole the Latino Man’s lady and hit him in the cojones. What stung the most was taking the #1 contender spot to challenge for the world title.
Hangman and Andrade wrestled for the prize of challenging the world champion at Revolution. To the disappointment of many, both men wore pants. That didn’t stop the Hangman from kicking the cockiness out of Andrade.
To the enjoyment of many, Andrade took a selfie with a lady who planted a kiss on his cheek. Hangman booted Andrade out of the picture and stole the affection from that fan. The cowboy refused on the kiss, because he is a married man.
Beyond the side business, Andrade and Hangman put on a darn fine match. Hangman leaped for a springboard, but Andrade was quicker to counter with catlike agility.
Hangman brought the power by catching Andrade on a tornillo for a fallaway slam into the barricade.
The Latino Man blocked the Buckshot Lariat to strike for a back elbow.
Andrade continued the momentum for a hammerlock DDT. Hangman rallied with core strength to counter into the Deadeye piledriver.
That’s when Don Callis got worried. Instead of a pin, Hangman went to the apron for a Buckshot Lariat. Callis ran down to distract the referee. The cowboy took flight. Andrade went for a low blow. Hangman blocked the cheap shot to deliver a groin kick of his own. Buckshot Lariat. 1, 2, 3. I like the attention to detail on this sequence. Hangman’s chosen side to execute the winning Buckshot scared Callis away and grabbed the ref’s attention for the finish.
Hangman is the new #1 contender for the AEW World Championship at Revolution. The cowboy will face MJF, who retained the gold over Brody King in the Grand Slam main event.
