Worcester: W, 15-5 (BOX SCORE)

Those looking at Cade Cavalli shutting down the Red Sox and knowing that a lot of this roster is made up of depth pieces right now, as well as waiting to hear what is happening with Willson Contreras missing games, may get excited looking at the box score from Syracuse against the Mets. There was no shortage of hits; outfielder Allan Castro went 4-for-6 with two home runs, Mikey Romero had two homers of his own, and Braiden Ward, Vinny Capra, Nathan Hickey and Max Ferguson all also had multiple hits as the WooSox
scored 7 runs in the fifth inning alone after already coming into that inning up 6-3.
Portland: L, 8-12 (BOX SCORE)

The Sea Dogs had plenty of offense, but still wasn’t enough. Nick Sansone wore the start against the Curve (Pirates AA) a little, and Isaiah Bolden certainly wore his inning. It’s tough to win when you have to compete against twelve runs, but the team did have four home runs including one by Franklin Arias to get his OPS back over that 1.000 mark and Caden Rose hitting a grand slam that still made it a 9-5 games.
Greenville: L, 4-5 (F/10) (BOX SCORE)

The Drive (White Sox High-A) let the game end on a walk-off walk after quickly letting the bases load in extras. There hadn’t been a run since the sixth inning due in part to Joe Vogatsky’s scoreless four innings in relief. That’s not to say Greenville was completely stagnant offensively, as Luke Heyman led the team’s nine hits with three of his own and Yoelin Cespedes had his twelfth homer, but when runs were needed, they weren’t scored.
Salem: L, 4-5 (BOX SCORE)

Speaking of pitchers wearing outings, Leighton Finley had probably the roughest start of an otherwise very promising season and couldn’t get out of the fifth. He struck out just two and allowed seven hits on ine runs. From the fifth to the seventh, the Green Jackets (Braves A) outscored the RidgeYaks, 9-1. The team also had two fielding errors and did not have an at-bat with runners in scoring position the entire game (their 3 runs were scored via homers.)
Have a warm Wednesday.
