I know what you’re thinking; that title doesn’t say Kyler Gordon!
Of the three players on the Chicago Bears’ physically unable to perform list, Gordon’s return would be more impactful, but the Bears are giving him one more week to get his conditioning right, as they activated linebacker Noah Sewell off the PUP list today.
Gordon’s 21-day practice window could keep him out until before the Week 7 game, while Shemar Turner, who is also on the PUP and in his 21-day window, will need to be activated next
week.
On Sunday against the Green Bay Packers, Sewell will likely slot right into the special teams role rookie linebacker Keyshaun Elliott had. Elliott has already been ruled out with a quad injury, and in the previous four games, Elliott has played in 56% of the Bears’ snaps in the third phase.
With Kyle Monangai ruled out, the Bears also elevated running back Zavier Scott for the game. Last year with the Minnesota Vikings, Scott appeared in 16 games, playing 105 offensive snaps and 149 on special teams. After the game, he’ll revert to the practice squad.
