It was a special kind of torture, having week 1 kick off on a Wednesday and having to wait 5 whole days before the Denver Broncos
get to join in the fun. Football so close y0u could touch it, but no. No, there is a price that must be paid in order to be the Monday night marquee matchup to close out week one.

The mysteries that have carried storylines all offseason will soon give way to the wins and losses of the 2026 season. How will Bo respond coming back from his ankle injury? How will Davis Webb fare taking over the play calling duties? Is Jonathan Cooper’s absence going to affect the defense? What about Jonathon Franklin-Myers departure via free agency?
You’ve been reading those beat storylines for the last 33-weeks with a knot in your stomach. It was a gut punch, watching an inferior Patriots team advance to the Super Bowl. It was obvious to just about everyone outside the northeast that a Bo Nix-led Broncos squad would have offered much more than the whimper turned in by New England.
But that was last season…
This offseason has been one of tremendous patience for Broncos Country and, today, all that waiting pays off. The days, weeks, and months of thumb-twiddling have FINALLY given way to gameday in Broncos Country. All that non-nutritive talk of what could have happened, what should have happened, last season are over. It’s time to welcome new triumphs, new hopes, and new history into the 2026 season.
