Vlad is back in the lineup. Batting third and DHing. That puts George Springer in left field. Bo Bichette hits cleanup. I don’t know about anyone else, but, if I ran things, I’d outlaw Vlad doing splits. I get that it looks cool and all, but I don’t see that changes the outcome on any plays.
And there was a roster move. Justin Bruihl is back with the Jays Paxton Schultz is on his way back to Buffalo.
Bruihl is a LHP who threw in 11 games for the Jays with a 6.48 ERA. In 8.1 innings he’s allowed 15
hits, 6 walks with 11 strikeouts.
Schultz threw one inning yesterday, allowing a hit, with a strikeout. I don’t understand why they are switching.
Beyond that, there are some injury updates:
- Anthony Santander is swinging a bat and hitting ‘high-velocity’ pitching.
- Nick Sandlin had discomfort in his elbow and is being ‘reassessed’.
- Yimi Garcia is getting a second opinion on his elbow. I don’t know that we’ve been told what the first opinion was.
