A lot more countries will be able to pay one monthly payment for most UFC content starting in 2026.
News broke months ago that Paramount CBS had snatched up the rights for all numbered UFC events and Fight
Nights in the United States for a cool $7.7 billion over 7 years. This announcement adds Latin America and Australia to the countries where UFC can be watched on streaming platform Paramount+.
“The partnership with Paramount has already been incredible and it just keeps getting bigger and better,” UFC CEO Dana White said in a press release. “They are now taking on new territories like Latin America and Australia and this thing is just going to continue to grow. It just shows you how aggressive they are with this business, and I love it. I can’t wait to continue working together and building the next generation of talent all over the world.”
The press release states that all of Latin America including Brazil will get the same deal as the United States: all UFC events including what were formerly pay-per-views, available for one monthly charge with your Paramount+ subscription.
As for Australia, it sounds like the days of pay-per-view are not quite over. The deal there included “all 30 UFC Fight Nights, as well as the prelims for all marquee UFC numbered events.” So numbered events seem like they’ll still be on an extra pay tier for now.
When UFC and Paramount CBS made announced their big United States deal, they also said that Paramount+ would get right of first refusal to pick up any international rights deals that came up for grabs. It looks like they’re aggressively moving forward with a plan to make Paramount the international home for UFC events.
For those in Canada hoping for similar news, you could be waiting for a while. The UFC announced a ‘multi-year’ deal with Rogers Sportsnet in 2024, with their previous deals being for four and three years respectively. That would leave those in the Great White North paying $29.99 a month for Sportsnet+ and around $80 a month for pay-per-views until the current deal ends.
