While we know Week 1 was kind to the Las Vegas Raiders with the 20-13 win over the New England Patriots, let’s check in on how Sunday went for a few former Raiders: Josh Jacobs, Davante Adams and Tre’von Moehrig.
Josh Jacobs
- Game Result: Packers win 27-13
- Stats: 19 carries, 66 yards, 1 TD, 1 catch, 4 yards
Green Bay was pretty dominant in a game that will be known as Micah Parsons’ debut. But Jacobs did something special by scoring a touchdown in his ninth consecutive regular-season game (10th if you include playoffs). For those curious, the record is 17 games in a row, held by Lenny Moore
(1963-1964) and Christian McCaffery (2022-2023). That being said, most of the afternoon was tough sledding for Jacobs, as he averaged just 3.5 yards per carry and wasn’t a factor as a receiver.
Davante Adams
- Game Result: Rams win 14-9
- Stats: 4 catches, 51 yards, 0 TDs
Puka Nacua was the bigger story in the Rams’ passing game, leading the team with 10 catches for 130 yards after suffering a scary injury where he was bleeding from a cut near his eye. Los Angeles’ offense as a whole and Adams had a tough time getting going, though. That’s likely a symptom of having a quarterback, Matthew Stafford, miss the majority of training camp. Still, LA managed to walk away with the ‘W’ in Adams’ debut with the club.
Tre’von Moehrig
- Game Result: Panthers lose 10-26
- Stats: 11 total tackles (7 solos)
This was a game to forget for the Panthers. The Jaguars jumped out to a 20-3 halftime lead and pretty much cruised from there to hand Carolina the loss. However, Moehrig was all over the field, leading the team in tackles by three. He’s coming off a career-high 104-tackle performance last season, so the 2021 second-round pick is picking up right where he left off in Las Vegas.
