One of the best players in NFL history will take his rightful spot in the New England Patriots’ Hall of Fame later this year. Rob Gronkowski, the most productive tight end to ever wear the franchise’s uniform, will be inducted in a public ceremony on November 7.
The event will take place at the Patriot Place Plaza. No time has been announced yet.
Gronkowski will receive the famous
red jacket in his first year of eligibility, after he beat guard Logan Mankins and kicker Adam Vinatieri in a fan vote in April. The 37-year-old will become the 38th inductee since The Hall was established in 1991, and the second tight end after Ben Coates in 2008 to receive the honor.
A second-round draft pick by the Patriots in 2010, Gronkowski spent the first nine seasons of his career with the organization. The Arizona product saw action in 115 regular season games and recorded 521 receptions for 7,861 yards and 79 touchdowns. He added 81 catches for 1,163 yards and 12 scores in 16 playoff contests.
One of the most productive and decorated players in franchise history, Gronkowski won three of his four total Super Bowls during his time in New England — he later won another ring as a Buccaneer in 2020 — and was voted to five Pro Bowls and named All-Pro on four occasions. He also is a member of the Patriots’ All-Dynasty Team and 2010s All-Decade Team, and the NFL’s 100th Anniversary Team.
“It’s just such a prestigious honor to be inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame, especially as a first ballot,” Gronkowski said in a media call back in April. “And to do it after so many others have led the way — Tom two years ago, Julian last year, you got the Tedy Bruschis the Willie McGinests — just so many guys that are just so great. And to be in the same category as them, it is just an absolute honor. There’s no doubt about that.”
The Patriots will host the Green Bay Packers at Gillette Stadium on the weekend of Gronkowski’s induction.
