Conference play has arrived around the college basketball world this week, and the SEC will get things going this afternoon. Tennessee is set to travel to Arkansas for the latest episode of Rick Barnes vs. John Calipari. The two are 13-13 all time against each other.
Tennessee is 8-2 in their last ten meetings against Arkansas. The Volunteers bounced back after a three-game losing skid with a huge win over Louisville a couple of weeks ago. They breezed through two tune-up games throughout the Christmas
break, now set to get things going in conference.
Arkansas enters this one after going 10-3 in non-conference play. Their only losses have come against three of the best teams in the country — Michigan State, Duke and Houston. The Razorbacks hold resume-building wins over Texas Tech and Louisville.
Freshman Darius Acuff Jr. leads the way for the Hogs, averaging over 18 points per game. Another freshman, Meleek Thomas, is averaging over 15 points per game. They’re joined by senior forward Travon Brazile, who is playing his fifth season of college basketball.
Karl Ravich and Jimmy Dykes will have the call for ESPN2.
