According to a report from Bild journalists Michel Schröer and Julian Agardi (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich and Dayot Upamecano are closing in on an agreement on a new deal that will put his
pay up to €20 million per season:
Dayot Upamecano is on the verge of extending his contract at FC Bayern. An agreement has been reached between the club and the player’s management. The final details are being clarified. Upamecano will put pen to paper this month. He will earn up to €20m gross per year.
Bild’s Christian Falk also checked in with his own information:
✅ According to our information, Dayot Upamecano (27) is close to signing a contract extension with FC Bayern. The Club and the the center-back reached an agreement on most of the remaining sticking points (signing bonus, release clause), and the final agreement is expected shortly.

The tendency for Dayot Upamecano is that he will extend his contract at FC Bayern with a release clause that becomes valid from the first year of the new deal (summer 2027). The talk is about €65m.
BFW Commentary
It is not clear if the €20 million figure is the salary + bonus structure or just the salary. It is also unclear how much a signing bonus would impact that figure.
Having a release clause available to be triggered for €65 million in 2027 could be something that is troubling to Bayern Munich fans. With the deal looking inevitable at this stage, we now just need to know exactly what those other terms and figures amount to.
At different points over the past few months, Upamecano has been linked to Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool, and others.
