It’s been ten years since the Syracuse Orange celebrated National Championships on back-to-back days and this Fall, Syracuse will honor those two championship squads and two championship men’s soccer teams in September.
The Syracuse men’s cross-country team won the program’s 2nd NCAA title in Louisville, Kentucky and the next day in Ann Arbor, Michigan the field hockey squad captured the first women’s NCAA Championship in Syracuse history with a 4-2 win over North Carolina. Then a few weeks later,
men’s soccer knocked off Boston College 1-0 to advance to the it’s first College Cup.
Now to mark the 10-year anniversary, those three programs will be honored in Syracuse. First, the 1985 Big East Champion and 2015 ACC Champion men’s soccer teams, will be honored during the September 12th football game against Colgate and the following day when the current men’s soccer team hosts Stanford. That 2015 squad was the first Syracuse team to reach the College Cup.

The Orange field hockey team will be recognized on Friday September 26th when the current squad faces Duke. 2015 Player of the Year Alyssa Manley will have her jersey retired that day. The following day, both field hockey and men’s cross-country will be recognized during the September 27th football game against Duke. The NCAA Champions will be on the field and hopefully we’ll get two new banners in the JMA Dome to commemorate their titles.
