Notre Dame added two new pieces to its 2027 football recruiting class on Monday. 3-Star wide receiver, Jackson Coleman, and 3-Star tight end, Titus Hawk, gave their public commitments to Marcus Freeman and Notre Dame.
Jackson Coleman has an interesting offer list and he chose the Irish over other notable programs like the Miami Hurricanes, Michigan Wolverines, Oregon Ducks, and more. Titus Hawk also had a strong offer list and chose Notre Dame over the Michigan Wolverines, Alabama Crimson Tide, Oklahoma Sooners, and many more.
-Tall, over-the-top wide receiver with impressive track markers.
-Shoots out of his stance and gets vertical in a hurry.
-Tracks football with advanced eyes and can find an extra gear to reel in off-target throws.
-Will use length to his advantage in contested-catch situations, but added bulk would make a difference in traffic and down in the red zone.
-Likely to face an adjustment period as he levels up in competition and keeps evolving as a route-runner, but could offer early special teams value with his size and speed.
-Owns one of the top PAI scores in the class for Tracking Football and projects as a multi-year contributor at the Power Four level.
-Dangly tight end that already brings it as a lead escort.
-Listed 6-foot-7 and appears to have no shortage of growth potential.
-Got looks attached, detached, in the slot and out wide as a junior for Oklahoma’s Class 6A-II runner-up.
-Can stress the seam with his long stride, but tends to do most of his damage as a pass catcher at the short and intermediate levels with his window-opening size.
-Chops feet as a move blocker and has surprising knock-back power.
-Will need to add plenty of weight if he’s going to be a true Y-TE, but has by far one of the more promising profiles for the position in the class given the two-way snaps and multi-sport accolades.
-Projects at this stage as a future Power Four starter with NFL upside.
Notre Dame now has 14 commitments for its 2027 class, and there are still a lot of big targets left on the board. Currently the Irish are the #5 team in the country according to the 247 Team Composite Rankings.
Notre Dame has been loading up at both TE and WR over the years with good recruiting and good transfer portal additions. While neither Hawk or Coleman will WOW the casual fan, neither prospect is needed or expected to come in right away and compete for meaningful minutes. Both will be given the opportunity to develop and grow into contributors and/or starters. Both offer lists are solid and the staff is really high on them as well.
These are solid pickups for Notre Dame and its 2027 class, and as we get further and further into their careers, more fans are going to love this pass-catching duo.
