Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Commanders fans and fans across the country.
Now that the season is well underway, we’re continuing to ask the standard confidence question each week; that is, “Are you confident the Commanders are headed in the right direction?”
We’ve been asking that question weekly from September to December for many years.
With the Commanders’ record standing a 1-4-1 heading into Week 8, there
is a bit of a “2020 season” feel to the situation, with a weak NFC East and upcoming winnable games against the 2-5 Eagles (who have lost 5 straight games) and the 3-4 Rams in Landover. The Commanders, if they win both games, could find themselves at 3-4-1 and still positioned to make a run at the NFC East title given the relatively weak remaining schedule and the Week 9 road game against the division-leading Giants, where a victory could see Washington at .500 overall and in the division.
Typically, any team with just one win as the season approaches the halfway mark would be considered obvious “sellers” at the trade deadline, which is the Tuesday after the Rams game and before road trip to New York. But with the Eagles unraveling and the Giants & Cowboys looking nearly as vulnerable as the Commanders themselves, many have argued that Washington should use the trade deadline as an opportunity to build around Jayden Daniels — attempting to acquire players, not necessarily for a 2026 playoff run, but for 2026 and beyond.
In today’s second question, we ask what you think GM Adam Peters should do as the November 10th trade deadline approaches.
Comments & Results
Of course, we invite you to answer the survey questions below, but also feel free to expand on your answers and provide nuance in the comments section. While you are certainly free to simply share which choices you made on the survey question, the most interesting comments will explain why you answered the way you did. I rely on those comments when discussing the results of the survey when they are posted in a separate article the next few days.
