Golden State Warriors basketball is officially back as the team tips off their 2026 preseason opener with Sunday night’s matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers. The game will be played at 4:00 p.m. PT in Honolulu, Hawaii, and can be watched on NBA League Pass.
Previously with the Warriors:
The 2025-26 season for the Warriors will unfortunately be remembered
for injuries. Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody both suffered significant knee injuries that cut their seasons short, while Stephen Curry missed a significant portion of the year with a lingering runner’s knee issue. Midseason trade acquisition Kristaps Porzingis also missed multiple games due to illness. Despite the injuries, the Warriors managed to finish the regular season as the 10th seed in the Western Conference with a 37-45 record. Their season ultimately came to an end with a loss to the Phoenix Suns in their second game of the Play-In Tournament.
What to watch for tonight:
Sunday will provide the first glimpse of this year’s group, as Golden State’s starting lineup will feature Curry, Draymond Green, Brandin Podziemski, Al Horford and rookie Yaxel Lendeborg. Lendeborg, in particular, is coming off an impressive summer in which he earned Summer League MVP honors, averaging 14.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game. The team has been impressed with what they’ve seen from their 11th overall pick in the draft, so it should be interesting to see how quickly he can translate that success alongside Golden State’s veteran core.
