Harry Kane continues to climb the Champions League record ladder, and his latest milestone puts him alongside one of Bayern Munich’s greatest modern players. The England captain has reached 57 Champions League goals, matching former Bayern teammate Thomas Müller on the competition’s all-time scoring list. Kane achieved the feat with a brace in Bayern’s 3-3 draw away to Viking FK (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Kane’s tally includes goals scored for Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich. He scored 21 times in 32 Champions League appearances for Tottenham before continuing his prolific European form for the Bavarian giants. Since joining Bayern in 2023, Kane has become one of the competition’s most consistent and lethal scorers. His latest brace also took him to 36 Champions League goals after turning 30, surpassing Lionel Messi’s total of 35 in the same age period.
Müller, meanwhile, built his European legacy across years of success with Bayern, winning the Champions League twice and becoming one of the club’s defining figures before moving to MLS in 2025. Matching the German’s goal total is another notable landmark for Kane as he continues to build his own legacy in Munich. The pair remain well behind the competition’s leading scorers, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, but Kane has plenty of time to climb further. At his current scoring rate, the Bayern striker could move past several more legendary names before his Champions League career is over. For now, matching Müller is a milestone worth celebrating. Kane is already among Europe’s most dangerous forwards, and his growing list of records suggests he is far from finished.
Beyond the records, Kane’s Champions League exploits strengthen his case for the upcoming Ballon d’Or. His goalscoring output, influence at Bayern, and contribution to the club’s trophy-winning campaign make him a serious contender for football’s biggest individual honor.
