Jamal Musiala started for just the third time this season in all competitions after battling back from injury and may have had his best performance of the year so far.
Musiala opened the scoring for Bayern Munich in the 9th minute of play, helping Bayern match the record for most goals in a Bundesliga season. Musiala also assisted Nico Jackson’s goal in the second half.
Musiala spoke to the press after the match and spoke about how he feels about his performance and his continued comeback. He had this
to say to Sky Germany (as reported by @iMiaSanMia): “I felt very good today. It was a good game. I had better actions, and scored a goal. I’m happy with the performance. I’m taking every minute I can, every game does me a lot of good. Today was a step forward but there’s still a way to go. My foot feels freer than a few weeks and months ago. I just need a bit more patience.”
Musiala is an important piece for Bayern and for Germany in both squad’s hunt for silverware over the next three months. It is great to see him making the progress he currently is and contributing to the team in the manner we have become accustomed to.
