Braden Fiske doesn’t think the Los Angeles Rams necessarily traded for a normal man when they acquired Myles Garrett in the offseason. “Not all men are created equal,” said Fiske this week
.Could Garrett’s presence help Fiske become the most man he’s ever been on the field?
“Not all men are created equal, that’s for sure,” Fiske said of Garrett on Thursday, via the team website. “He’s a baller, no doubt. He’s getting a slide, there’s no doubt about that. Trying to work off him or vice versa, communicating.
The biggest thing right now is working on our communication of how to rush together, how we’re going to attack certain looks. As all four, the certain looks that we’re going to get when he’s on the field, preparing for that and doing our best to work off each other. It’s been good so far though. I think we’re making strides.”
While Aaron Donald’s potential return looms over Fiske’s immediate future, Garrett’s present presence could give L.A. the best defensive line in the NFL.

No Update on Aaron Donald (oc register)
Sean McVay has nothing new to say about Donald.
“I don’t know yet,” he said. “We’re (going to) see.”
Early during the Rams’ two weeks spent at LMU for training camp, McVay stated that fans should not expect an update on Donald until the team returned to Woodland Hills. When asked Saturday if there’s any update on Donald, McVay said there is not.
“No update on that as of right now,” McVay said.
The next “no update” should happen on Sunday.
Fiske sees AD return as chance to learn (oc register)
Fiske would welcome Donald, but doesn’t think the team needs him right now.
“I try to think of being impacted in the right way, in a healthy way of I can learn from him if he does choose (to return),” Fiske said. “And if he doesn’t, I love the group that we have, and we’re getting some really good work out here. But, if that’s what he chooses to do, we’re here, we’re going to get some work. And if he’s not, we’ll continue this train rolling and get this thing going.”
McVay ready for Cowboys joint practice (oc register)
Tuesday will be a joint practice between the Rams and Cowboys, who training camp at Oxnard.
“I think when you go against each other as much as we’ve done up to this point, it’s good to be able to just kind of change it up and get a feel to go against different schemes and great players,” McVay said. “(I am) looking forward to being able to go against some different schemes in really all three phases is kind of the the best thing, and some really good personnel that they have.”
Joint practice is more valuable to the Rams than preseason, although this year will be different in that regard.

McVay is pleased with what he’s seen from Bennett and could rest him for the entire month, giving Ty Simpson more snaps to develop his game. We already posted that Simpson will play next week.
“He’s just taking advantage of his reps,” McVay said. “He’s aggressive. He’s a playmaker. He’s going to be aggressive, but not reckless. He can make some things happen off-schedule. The way that we’re able to get in and out of the huddle in terms of his overall command has been significantly improved.”
Don’t count out the veteran QB options though if McVay changes his mind.

Garrett wants to continue chasing sacks in 2026. Including the most-ever through a player’s first 10 seasons.
On that subject, Garrett appeared on ‘Inside Rams Camp’ on Thursday and revealed he is chasing some big history in 2026.
“Break my own record. I mean, there’s a couple records on the way. You know, if I get 20, I have the most by year 10 of anyone, and that would be passing Reggie. And you know, I want to, you know, be up there and be his peer and surpass him, but I also want to, you know, break my own records in which I’ve created and go out there and get 24, 25,” Garrett said.

Will Whit get into the Hall?
Former Los Angeles Rams offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth is eligible for the NFL Hall of Fame class of 2027. AP
In his 17-year career, he was known as one of the best left tackles in the league, as he was selected to 4 Pro Bowls and was a two-time first-team All-Pro in 2015 and 2017.
Whitworth was a core player and fan favorite during his time with the Bengals, as he helped the team reach the playoffs six times during his tenure. In 2014, he had a perfect season for an offensive lineman, as he did not allow a single sack.
I understand what’s special about Whitworth, but his particular type of resume hasn’t usually gotten players into the Hall of Fame. However, maybe in his case the Super Bowl at the end of his career will get him over the hump.
