That said, this game may not be so straightforward, even against a Spurs side that sits 16th in the Premier League: Atleti have yet to keep a clean sheet in this season’s Champions League, having
shipped 19 goals through eight league phase games and the two-legged play-off tie against Club Brugge.
Spurs came through the league phase in fourth position, but that was under previous head coach Thomas Frank. Following Frank’s dismissal last month, former Juventus boss Igor Tudor has stepped in — though he has lost all three of his Premier League matches in charge.
