On Monday afternoon, the NFL dropped its full list of waiver claims after Sunday’s cutdown day. The Detroit Lions were not awarded anyone on waivers, and more importantly, no Lions players were claimed via waivers.
As a reminder, a player who is cut goes on waivers if they’ve had three or fewer accrued seasons in the NFL. If they are claimed, they go to that team with their existing contract. If they are not claimed, they become unrestricted free agents who can sign to any team they want, including
to practice squads.
The following Lions players were waived and cleared waivers—and therefore are eligible to sign to Detroit’s practice squad:
- QB Luke Altmyer
- RB Roydell Williams
- WR Lucky Jackson
- WR Dominic Lovett
- WR Malik Cunningham
- WR Tarik Black
- TE Thomas Gordon
- TE Zach Horton
- RG Mason Miller
- LT Devin Cochran
- LG Melvin Priestly
- RT Colby Sorsdal
- C Gus Hartwig
- DT Chris Smith
- DT Tyre West
- EDGE Anthony Lucas
- LB Erick Hunter
- CB Nick Whiteside
- CB Ryan “Bump” Cooper
- CB Ekow Boye-Doe
- CB Eric Scott
- S Aamaris Brown
