Real Madrid midfielder Arda Güler was named the Champions League’s young player of the 2025-26 season, UEFA announced on Sunday afternoon.
In an overall mediocre season for Real Madrid, Güler was one of their bright spots in the Champions League, where he scored two goals and provided four assists.
It was also the manner in which he contributed to the team — his two goals came in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, when Real Madrid desperately needed them against Bayern Munich.
Even though they
ended up losing the match and the tie, Güler was still the best player on the pitch for Los Blancos, and solidified himself as one of the big stars of the team.
He was also one of the few bright spots from a mediocre domestic season for Real Madrid, scoring four goals and providing nine assists in the league.
Still only 21 years old, Güler has a lot he can improve on, and it would be very interesting to follow his journey in the next few seasons.
