TUESDAY: ALABAMA 8, SOUTH ALABAMA 0 (5 Inn.)
The Crimson Tide took care of business on Tuesday, collecting 10 hits and 8 runs to run rule the Jags. Brooke Wells was 3 for 4 with 4 RBI and smacked her 16th dinger of the season which ties her with Ashley Prange (2023) and Leona Lafaele (2016) for 10th place on Alabama’s single-season home run records. And we are only one week into April.
Bailey Hemphill (2019) holds the Alabama single season
record with 26. The count is on.
Despite the rout, only five of 10 Tide batters got hits. Marlie Giles was 3 for 3 with a run and RBI.
It was the same Bama lineup as Game 3 vs Texas of Alexis Pupillo leading off, Audrey Vandagriff hitting sixth, and Kristen White ninth. The only difference was Mari Hubbard (0-3) starting at second base for Jena Young, hitting eighth. White was 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored and is 4 for her last 6 with 4 runs.
Kaitlyn Pallozzi (7-0) got the start in the circle and pitched 4.0 innings of 2-hit ball with three walks and one K. Vic Moten pitched the 5th and coxed three straight ground outs.
