Well, the prop master (self-titled, of course) took a brutal beating last week. After our typical 2-1 outcome in week 1, we followed that up with a 0-3 burger in week 2. That drops our season record to 2-4 and puts us below .500 for the first time in over two seasons.
But we look to have a better week in week three. The Bears play tonight on Monday Night Football as they welcome the Philadelphia Eagles. Here are three props we like this week. Odds courtesy of FanDuel.
Kyle Monangai OVER 38.5 Rushing Yards -113
The Chicago Bears are going to
have Case Keenum run the offense this week, and I think the one thing we know is that Ben Johnson is going to focus on getting the run game going and try to take some of the pressure off Keenum. The Eagles have given up some yards on the ground this year, and Monangai diced them up last year. I don’t think Monangai runs for 130 again, but I think he can definitely clear 40 yards.
Kalif Raymond OVER 23.5 Receiving Yards -113
Raymond has easily cleared this number in the first two games. While it’s a wild card to know where Keenum is going to go with the ball, I think Keenum knows what a “coach’s best friend” Raymond is, and since Keenum is practically a coach himself, he will look for Raymond a few times to secure the ball when they need to move the chains. He can go to Raymond short and let him work with the ball in his hands, and I think there’s no reason he isn’t up over 40 yards again.
Dontayvion Wicks OVER 41.5 Receiving Yards -113
The Bears offense is certainly more of a question this week, so it’s worth looking over on the other side of the aisle for any intriguing plays and Wicks is one for me. Wicks has cleared 70 yards in each of the first two games of the season, and I certainly don’t trust the Bears secondary to be sticky in better conditions. Last week, the secondary play improved, but I’m going to need to see it on a clean field and in good conditions to truly believe in it. I think the conditions slowed down the Vikings’ passing attack more than the Bears did. Wicks feels like a guy that will slip behind Tyrique Stevenson once or twice for a decent gain and comfortably clear 41.5 this evening.
