Lance Stephenson can scrap a little bit.
On Saturday night, Stephenson squared off with Michael Beasley in the co-main event of Brand Risk 14, Adin Ross’ influencer fight promotion. The two former NBA players have some personal history, competing against each other for years on the basketball court, but in the ring, it only lasted for 90 seconds, as Stephenson ran Beasley over.
Beasley clearly had some experience training his boxing and came out with a long jab, but Stephenson ducked inside, grabbed
a body lock and dumped Beasley to the mat quickly. From there, Beasley tried for a guillotine choke unsuccessfully. Stephenson broke free and Beasley then gave up his back, allowing Stephenson to lock in a rear-naked choke. Beasley tapped moments later, clearly untrained on the ground.
After the fight, Beasley suggested he would be happy to rematch Stephenson in boxing but noted that, “Practicing getting choked and getting choked ain’t the same!”
