It’ll be a much changed team tonight, and it’s a good opportunity for the likes of Ahoka, Methalie and Fofana to get some minutes in their legs at the Stadium of Light.
I reckon Hull will make a load of changes too – they’re unlikely to want a cup run to divert their attention from the Premier League this season – and
I think our rotated team will have too much for their rotated team.
Key differentiator: I think we’ll have too much on the wings for their defence to handle

That Brentford point was huge but should have been 3, if we could have made more of what we created in the first half. I think Regis will have the lads on lessons learned in this cup tie, with the message being if you can show you can deliver the end product against another premier league team in the cup, maybe you can get game time in the league.
With Europe and Premier League outcomes being way more important than this for us and simply staying up and continuing a good league start being key for them, I’m not sure who will care less here, but we should have enough to prevail comfortably all things considered.
Key differentiator: It will take time for the new lads to gel for both sides, so don’t expect magic in the first half, but the second could get spicy.

It’s difficult to predict as I expect us to make a few changes but I do hope we take it seriously. I know we have Europa League commitments but I’d like us to hit everything we can.
It’ll be nice to see some of the new lads get some more game time, hopefully Methalie, Ahoka and Fofana all getting a look in.
We should be beating Hull, even though they have started well, so I’m hoping we can deliver.

Heavy rotation makes this a difficult one to call, but that’s what makes the cup interesting. It’s a good chance for the lads on the fringes to get minutes and give Le Bris something to think about.
Hull have started well, so I don’t expect it to be straightforward, but with home advantage and plenty of quality still available, I fancy us to get through.
Key differentiator: The energy and hunger of the players coming into the side, fighting to a place in the weekend squad.

Nevertheless, I reckon we’ll have just about enough to put our names in the hat for the next round.

We have a lot of footballers who haven’t played first team football for yonks, and they’ll be absolutely desperate to prove a point to Regis.

Hull have made an impressive start to life in the Premier League and we have already lost to one of the promoted teams.
We’ve gone up a notch in performances since the opening day, but early season form likely bears no significance on this cup tie, as I expect both teams to make wholesale changes to their starting line ups tonight.
Our record in the League Cup, barring one quarter final appearance under Lee Johnson, has been really poor since we reached the final in 2014.
I’m hoping we can at least get through one round.
Key differentiator: We may start a couple more first teamers and newly-promoted Hull could sack this one off to focus on the league. That should give us the edge to win this game and advance to the next round.

I can though see both teams making a whole list of changes.

Last game thoughts…
Once again the lads made us proud away to Brentford, and if only for a bit more clinical finishing we may well have been 2 or 3 up inside the first half. Lets hope we don’t rue those missed chances later on.
Le Fee has put his Panenka past to bed, and we now get to test some of our newer signings and a few more formations and options in the league cup this evening.
Either batter them or get out and forget it. I’d take either.
Last game predictions…
A lot of the lads were suggesting the change to Bold Calls was a waste of time, and then of course two 4 pointers come along at once.
Not massive confidence ahead of the trip to the G Tech but those who backed us to get a draw got it spot on. And those who called a penalty too…perfect
