The Las Vegas Raiders signed quarterback Jeff Driskel to their practice squad recently. Let’s take a closer look at Driskel:
Size:
6-4, 231 pounds.
NFL experience:|
Driskel has been around for awhile. He first entered the NFL in 2016 and the Raiders are the ninth program he’s been part of. He has played in 25 games with 12 starts. He’s 1-11 as an NFL starter. He’s played in a total of two games in the past two seasons.
College:
Driskel went to Florida and then to Louisiana Tech. He was a sixth-round draft
choice of the San Francisco 49ers in 2016.
Raiders ties:
The 49ers head coach when Driskel was drafted was new Las Vegas offensive coordinator Chip Kelly. Driskel spent some time on San Francisco’s practice squad that season.
How he will fit in with Raiders:
Driskel, 32, will likely be elevated on game days to be the emergency quarterback early in the season. When rookie Cam Miller gets more seasons he could take that role form the practice squad.
