The Pittsburgh Steelers made a big move on Tuesday, signing free agent cornerback Asante Samuel Jr. to their practice squad. When Samuel will make his Steelers’ debut is unknown, but considering how quickly
Kyle Dugger has stepped in and been productive, Samuel could take the field as early as Week 11 against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Steelers made a slew of roster moves along with the Samuel signing, including making rookie quarterback Will Howard active for the first time this season, the team announced. In addition, the Steelers waived running back Trey Sermon from the active roster and released safety Darrick Forrest.
Being that Mason Rudolph is the backup to Aaron Rodgers, it’s likely that Howard will be made the emergency third quarterback against the Cincinnati Bengals.
