A CORUÑA, Spain — Leyma Coruña announced Thursday that it has strengthened its frontcourt for the 2026-27 season with the signing of George Conditt IV.
The 6-foot-11 big man joins the Spanish club after playing for Gigantes de Carolina in Puerto Rico’s BSN, where he averaged 9.2 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.0 block per game in the 2025-26 season. He led the team with six double-doubles.
Conditt brings significant experience
in Spain’s top-tier ACB league, having previously played for Dreamland Gran Canaria during the 2024-25 campaign, where he averaged 7.4 points and 4.1 rebounds.
Conditt, 25, has become a fixture on the international stage as a member of the Puerto Rican national team. He represented Puerto Rico in the 2023 FIBA World Cup and the 2024 Paris Olympics. During the Olympic group phase in 2024, his highlights included a 13-point, six-rebound performance against South Sudan and a versatile showing against the United States, where he recorded four points, seven rebounds, and five assists.
His professional résumé also includes a standout season in the NBA G-League with the Rip City Remix, where he earned the league’s Defensive Player of the Year award. Additionally, he has competed in the Greek first division and the EuroCup with Promitheas Patras.
Before his professional career, Conditt played four seasons at Iowa State. He finished his collegiate career with 128 blocks, ranking fourth in school history, and was noted for his passing ability, becoming one of only four Big 12 players 6-foot-9 or taller in a 10-year span to record at least 65 assists in a single season.
Leyma Coruña expects Conditt to be a key piece of their interior rotation as they prepare for the upcoming 2026-27 season.
