The Kentucky Wildcats will kick off their 2025-26 season against Nicholls on Tuesday night inside Rupp Arena. Mark Pope’s squad has already dealt with a couple of key injuries this exhibition season, and
they could linger into the season opener.
Transfer PG Jaland Lowe, who got banged up in the Wildcats Blue-White game, has been ruled out of the matchup against Nicholls due to a right shoulder injury, per The Field of 68’s Jeff Goodman.
The ‘Cats will be paying close attention to Denzel Aberdeen, who was absent from the exhibition matchup against Georgetown due to a sore leg. He is considered a game-time decision for the matchup against the Colonels.
KSR reported Monday that both guards returned to practice with no lingering concern for either player.
The expectation is that both guards should be a full go a week from today when the Wildcats travel to Louisville to face their in-state rival, though it would be nice to have both of them back for Friday’s game vs. Valparaiso to work out any rust before facing a Final Four contender on the road.
