The TCU secondary will be undergoing significant changes over the offseason. Not only are the Horned Frogs set to lose seniors like All-Big 12 safety Bud Clark to graduation/eligibility expiring, but the team
will be losing key veterans at the cornerback spot. One of those veterans, Elijah Jackson, posted on social media Friday that he will enter the transfer portal after only one season with TCU. Jackson, who transferred in from Washington prior to the start of the 2025 season, was limited to one game due to injury and finished the year with just one tackle.
Before arriving at TCU, Jackson was at Washington for five seasons, helping the Huskies reach the College Football Playoff and defeat Texas with the game-clinching pass breakup in 2024. Over his five years at Washington, Jackson totaled 89 tackles, seven pass breakups and three forced fumbles. The 6-foot-1, 195-pounder from Carson, California was expected to compete for a starting spot with the Horned Frogs.
Jackson’s departure is a blow to the cornerback depth at TCU, where seniors like starter Channing Canada along with veterans Avery Helm and Jevon McIver Jr. are expected to depart due to graduation/eligibility expiring. The Horned Frogs also lost cornerback Jonah Martinez to the transfer portal earlier last month. While Glover Jr. has already announced his return for next season, TCU will need young players such as sophomore Devondre McGee and freshmen Gil Jackson, Cam Jamerson, Deon Mays and Micah Strickland to emerge.
