Next up in our Chargers 90-in-90 series is rookie defensive tackle Terry Webb!
Can this former Mustang make some noise with the Chargers after a single standout season at SMU?
The Basics
Height: 6’3
Weight: 313 pounds
College: SMU/Texas State/Kilgore College
Experience: Rookie
Webb starred at Galveston High School in Texas where he was named a First-Team All-District as an offensive tackle and Second-Team All-District as a defensive end. His collegiate career began at Kilgore College, a JUCO in his homestate.
He played two seasons there, totaling five tackles for loss and two sacks across 22 games played.
From there, Webb transferred to the Divison 1 level to play at Texas State. Over teasons with the Bobcats, Webb played in 26 games with 10 starts, recording 45 tackles, seven tackles for loss, and three sacks.
With his final year of eligibility, Webb transferred from Texas State to SMU. He started all 13 games in 2025, posting career highs of 46 tackles, seven tackles for loss, and 5.5 sacks with a forced fumble and four pass breakups. Those numbers also helped him earn Honorable Mention All-AAC honors.
Following his five-year collegiate career, Webb would go undrafted in 2026 before signing as a UDFA with the Chargers.
The Good
Webb is a feisty interior defender that likes to utilize some sneaky agility in a phone booth. He creates havoc in the backfield by “ole’-ing” offensive linemen, relying on pure evasion as opposed to taking blocks head on. This notable agility also shows up as a pass rusher. He won’t likely enclose pockets by walking back blockers into the lap of the quarterback, but he’s got enough juice to win with a quick get-off and using a lineman’s overaggression again them.
The Bad
Webb lacks ideal strength at the point of attack which is something that will greatly burden his ability to make it at the next level. Teams love an interior defender who can get after the quarterback, but you also can’t be a complete liability against the run.
2026 Outlook
Webb is walking into a very full position group as an undrafted rookie. The active roster players are very much in place. His only goal is to try and make it as a practice squad player. However, that’s going to be tough sledding with a number of other former UDFA interior with the same goal, including fellow 2026 UDFA Jahmeer Carter.
