Jose Mourinho addressed speculation surrounding his future during today’s pre-game press conference ahead of Benfica’s clash with Famalicão, firmly dismissing any links to Real Madrid and reiterating his contractual commitment to Benfica.
When asked directly about reported interest from Real Madrid, Mourinho was unequivocal:
“No one from Real Madrid has spoken to me. I have one more year on my contract with Benfica.”
He doubled down on that stance when pressed further, emphasizing both his experience
in the game and his familiarity with ongoing media speculation:
“No, nobody from Real Madrid has spoken to me, I can guarantee you that. I’ve been in football for too many years, just like you in journalism, and we’re used to these things, but nothing from Real Madrid.”
Mourinho maintained a consistent message throughout the exchange, declining to elaborate beyond what he had already stated:
“I can’t say anything more. As far as Real Madrid is concerned, nothing, and as far as Benfica is concerned, they already know the situation. I have one more year left on my contract with Benfica, and that’s it.”
