The Miami RedHawks are ready to Drop It Like It’s Hot once again.
For the second-consecutive year, Miami (OH) (7-6, 6-2 MAC) is headed to the Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl to face a Mountain West opponent. This time, the RedHawks will battle Fresno State (8-4, 5-3 Mountain West) on Saturday, Dec. 27. The matchup was originally reported by On3 Sports’ Brett McMurphy.
Miami dominated Colorado State, 43-17, in the 2024 Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl as the chief sponsor himself, Calvin Broadus Jr. — colloquially known
as “Snoop Dogg” — awarded Miami with the trophy and provided a custom chain to MVP Kevin Davis. Arriving with familiarity of the atmosphere, Snoop Dogg’s favorite MAC team aims for a repeat at Arizona Stadium in Tucson, AZ.
Miami is bowling for the fifth-straight season under 12-year head coach Chuck Martin. The RedHawks overcame an 0-3 start to qualify for their third-straight MAC Championship Game this year, but similarly to 2024, they were ousted in Detroit. Western Michigan defeated the RedHawks 23-13 for the crown of the MAC on Saturday, but Miami receives an opportunity to bounce back and and secure a winning season in Tucson. The RedHawks are 2-4 in bowl games under Martin, and they aim to win consecutive bowls for the first time since 1973-75, where they triumphed in three-straight Tangerine Bowls.
Fresno State is also bowling for the fifth-straight season, posting a winning record under first-year head coach Matt Entz. The Bulldogs saw their 5-game bowl win streak conclude last season, but the team aims to launch a new one in Arizona. Fresno State is currently in the midst of its second-longest bowl stretch in program history, needing two more seasons to match the prolific run from 1999-2005.
The Arizona Bowl was founded in 2015 and will pit the MAC vs. the Mountain West for the fifth-straight time. Fresno State is making its first appearance in the Arizona Bowl, while Miami is appearing in the “Snooper Bowl” for the second-straight year. This is the second year the bowl game’s official sponsor is Gin & Juice by Dre and Snoop, with the 54-year old rapper serving as the spokesperson.
The 2025 Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl kicks off from Tucson on Saturday, Dec. 27 at 4:30 p.m. ET / 2:30 p.m. MT and is the only bowl game televised by The CW Network.
