The WVU women’s soccer team picked up their third straight win Saturday night, shutting out Army 3–0 at Dick Dlesk.
After a scoreless first half, Maddie Levy broke the deadlock in the 54th minute, finishing off a pass from Taylor White. White added to the lead in the 72nd minute with her fourth goal of the year — and the 20th of her career — off a setup from Anna Hauer. Freshman Kailyn Effah put the game
away in the 83rd, pouncing on a rebound for her first collegiate goal.
West Virginia outshot the Black Knights 18–3 and forced goalkeeper Karalyn Dail into six saves. White led the Mountaineers with four shots, while Levy, Olivia Shertzer, and Hauer each added two.
Goalkeeper Bailey Herfurth didn’t face a shot on target, recording her third consecutive shutout. The Mountaineers (4–2) have now posted four clean sheets through six matches.
Next up is a trip to Huntington to face Marshall on Thursday, Sept. 11. Kickoff is set for 7:00PM on ESPN+.
