Barca, Spurs both struck out on Kane (TEAMtalk)
By all accounts, Bayern Munich is closing in on signing a contract extension with star striker Harry Kane. Before things got to this point, both FC Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur took a last run at trying to get the Englishman:
Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur have both made recent enquiries about Harry Kane this summer, TEAMtalk can reveal, but Bayern Munich are now accelerating talks over a new contract for their star striker.
We understand Bayern are pushing to get Kane’s future resolved as we revealed
earlier in the summer, with the club increasingly confident that the England captain is ready to commit his long-term future to the Bundesliga champions.
Barcelona have remained in regular contact with Kane’s camp throughout the summer as they prepared for the departure of veteran striker Robert Lewandowski.
They have also continued to pursue Julian Alvarez, but we understand they have simultaneously done significant work on the possibility of bringing Kane to Spain.
Kane has seriously considered what life could look like in Spain, with both Barcelona and long-term admirers Real Madrid having been options. However, we understand leaving Bayern would require something genuinely significant to convince him and, at present, that is not the case.
Tottenham have also kept the door open to a sensational reunion.
The pull of a return to the club will always exist for Kane and Spurs have made it clear that bringing their record goalscorer back remains something they would like to explore, particularly with Roberto De Zerbi now in charge.
However, despite the interest from Barcelona and Tottenham and Manchester United’s willingness to consider a deal – with co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe known to be an admirer – Kane has not been chasing a move.
The new of a potential extension between Bayern Munich and Kane has been widely lauded by fans (getting Bayern Munich fans to agree on something like this is quite the achievement). Hopefully, Kane can continue his terrific form and help lead Bayern Munich to treble during this campaign.

It is sure looking more and more like Bayern Munich is going to extend the deal of board member for sport Max Eberl:
Max Eberl got going early in the transfer window with the deals for Ismael Saibari and Nathaniel Brown. He always kept the supervisory board informed as to his work in the market, which is very important. But now, he has to show that he can sell players. There’s a bit of pressure on Eberl to do that, and he’s giving it to the players who Bayern are looking to sell: João Palhinha, Sacha Boey and Bryan Zaragoza. He’s putting pressure on them to leave the club, and now he has to show the supervisory board that he can also be a hardliner as a boss.
✅ It is TRUE: Bayern are satisfied with Max Eberl’s work this summer. If you cast your mind back to the cup final in Berlin, Uli Hoeneß gave an interview on the subject of Eberl’s future – which will be decided at the end of August when the supervisory board has their planned meeting – where he admitted that the chances of Max Eberl staying were 60-40%. But now, at the Tegernsee where the training camp was held in pre-season, Hoeneß was asked again, and he said the chances are 100%. That means a lot, because the word of Uli Hoeneß on the supervisory board carries the most weight; everyone follows the opinion of Hoeneß.
For a guy that did have some doubters (internally and externally at times), Eberl has performed and done a very good job.

United chasing Raum? (TEAMtalk)
Manchester United could be plotting a move for RB Leipzig left-back David Raum:
Manchester United have not given up on Lewis Hall but are accepting they need to explore alternative left-back targets during the final weeks of the transfer window, TEAMtalk can reveal.
United identified a new left-back as one of their major priorities this summer after first strengthening the midfield, and Hall was established as their preferred option earlier in the window.
One name already high on their list is RB Leipzig’s David Raum, with TEAMtalk having revealed earlier this year that the Germany international is admired by United.
The 28-year-old is considered an attractive option given his contract situation. Raum has less than 12 months remaining on his current deal and, although he has a release clause of around £34million, intermediaries believe a deal below £30million could potentially be negotiated if no new contract is put in place.
We understand Raum has previously spoken with United. Crucially, we can confirm he would be happy with the prospect of moving to Old Trafford and competing with Luke Shaw for a place in the squad.
Raum had a terrific 2025/26 season, but was banged up for the World Cup and barely played. A move to Manchester United might not be a great idea for a guy coming off an injury that limited him. Raum could be looking to cash out, though, and if he does…more power to him (we guess).
Torres getting close with PSG (Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg)
Ferrán Torres is getting closer to a move, but it is not done (at least not yet):

Manchester City is getting closer to getting the much-anticipated deal for Ayyoub Bouaddi completed:
Manchester City are closing in on signing Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille, with the midfielder’s expected arrival clearing the path for Rodri to join Barcelona. The 18-year-old has agreed personal terms with City, but the club are still finalising the deal with Lille who value Bouaddi at €100m (£85m).
City’s new manager, Enzo Maresca, wants to integrate the Morocco international into his first-team squad immediately. City meet Arsenal in the Community Shield on Sunday and start their Premier League campaign against Bournemouth on 23 August.
