On Sunday night, Texas A&M was announced as a Regional Host for the 14th time in program history. Early Monday afternoon, the Aggies found out who they will host and what national seed they earned.
Southern California, Texas State, and Lamar will be headed to Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park this weekend as the 12th-seeded Aggies (#branding) host the College Station Regional.
As the 12 seed, A&M is paired with the Chapel Hill Regional, as fifth-seeded North Carolina would have the honor of hosting a Super Regional should both top seeds advance.
An early SEC Tournament exit, combined with a 4-6 record in their final 10 conference games, seemed to confirm a top-eight national seed was not in the cards for the Maroon and White this year. However, hosting postseason baseball is an accomplishment after missing the NCAA Tournament entirely in the first year of the Michael Earley era. This is the 39th all-time appearance in the Tournament for the Aggies and their 17th across the last 19 editions (missed 2021, 2025).
A full preview of the Bryan-College Station Regional will be coming soon, but the Aggies will take on the Southland Conference champions, the Lamar Cardinals, in their first game of the Regional. The Cardinals, making their first Tournament appearance since 2010, will get a rematch against A&M, a game that finished 25-5 in a seven-inning run-rule in College Station back in February.
The Trojans, Bobcats, Cardinals and Aggies will play in a four-team double elimination format starting on Friday, May 29, with television and times to be announced ahead of the regional.
