Rick Barnes and Tennessee have a need down low in the post as they continue to round out their roster, and they may be looking to the prep ranks to fill one of their final spots. Favlour Ibe, a 7-foot-1 center prospect in the 2026 class, is set to take an official visit to Knoxville.
Grant Ramey at VolQuest had the news this weekend.
Ibe is a 4-star prospect, according to 247Sports.
Ibe checks in as the 21st ranked center prospect in the class and the fifth ranked prospect out of the state of Maryland. He boast an impressive offer list, which includes Michigan, Alabama, Maryland, Texas, Florida State and a handful of others.
Tennessee has added a couple of frontcourt players out of the transfer portal — Miles Rubin from Loyola-Chicago and Kennesaw State’s Braeden Lue. DeWayne Brown will also return, but the Volunteers could clearly use one more true big down low for depth concerns.
Ibe might fit that need, bringing more length by far than anyone else on Tennessee’s roster.
Tennessee is still awaiting final word on Juke Harris, who has entered the transfer portal but is also exploring the NBA Draft. Rick Barnes flew to California, where Harris is training, to visit him again last week. Assuming Harris sticks to college basketball, Tennessee certainly seems in the driver’s seat there.
That would leave one more opening for Barnes to fill, and Ibe could end up being that guy.
