Chris Jericho did a sit down with The Winnipeggers for a recent show, and during said show a fan came in with a chat saying they hoped he would return to WWE. His response?
“You never know.”
That return
is looking more and more likely all the time.
Rumors have been swirling for months now, what with Jericho off AEW television dating back to April. Reports have indicated WWE has been putting together some creative plans for his return. Now, Alex McCarthy of Wrestling Intel is reporting Jericho is indeed leaving AEW for WWE, and it’s all happening even sooner than some have thought.
McCarthy reports Jericho’s contract with AEW ends on Dec. 31 and WWE could have him debut as soon as the Jan. 5 episode of Monday Night Raw. That would be the Netflix anniversary episode the company has been loading up with big matches, like Bron Breakker challenging CM Punk for the world heavyweight championship.
Jon Alba of SI, meanwhile, reports those within AEW are of the belief that Jericho is done there and heading off to WWE to close out his career.
Jericho hasn’t worked for WWE for over seven years now. All signs point to a big return that will eventually lead to a Hall of Fame induction, and we may not have to wait for long to see it.
You ready?
