From ISU to ISU, Millie Day is transitioning her collegiate tennis career from Idaho State University to the Iowa State program to play for head coach Jaron Maestas. Day arrives in Ames as a highly decorated addition, having most recently earned a spot on the 2026 All-Big Sky First Team for her singles performance.
During her sophomore season at Idaho State, Day demonstrated her ability to compete at the highest level of the lineup, posting a 12-9 overall singles record. This included a 5-3 mark in conference
play while competing exclusively from the No. 1 position. Her excellence was not limited to singles; she and teammate Emmy Richards combined for a strong 14-5 doubles record, and Day was recognized as the Big Sky Player of the Week during the season.
Day’s impact was felt immediately upon her arrival in the United States, as she was named the 2025 Big Sky Freshman of the Year. During her debut season, she registered a 13-8 singles record and found success in tournament play as the Bradford Cup Delta singles champion and the Barb Chandler Classic Blue Flight runner-up. Her contributions helped Idaho State tie a program record with four singles all-conference selections.
A native of Buckinghamshire, England, Day has a wealth of experience from the British circuit, where she represented her senior county team starting at age 13. Her pre-collegiate accolades include being a member of a 2022 National Doubles Championship squad, a finalist at the Premier Women’s Brit Tour, and a semi-finalist at the U16 British National Championships.
