What is the story about?
The U.S. women fulfilled their destiny, completing their running of the table and medal rounds, though this time they needed a late equalizer and overtime to get past Canada to win gold. It’s almost always an epic battle between those two, even when one is a clear favorite as the U.S. were this time around. The pressure and potential heartbreak for the Americans was immense.
That brings us winding down to the final days, men’s semifinals Friday and the medal games Sunday:
- On the men’s side, four teams are left and three of them will get medals, with two of them acting like only gold will do. Canada faces Finland today without Sidney Crosby. [NHL]
