Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza, currently favored to win the 2025 Heisman Trophy, is also likely to be a first round pick in next Spring’s NFL Draft. He attracted plenty of attention at Cal, but rocketed up draft boards this past offseason and throughout the Hoosiers’ 11-0 start.
Mendoza fits the typical NFL mold. He’s tall, mobile enough for the modern game, has a strong arm and sees the field well. Playing in Curt Cignetti’s offense with players like Elijah Sarratt and Omar Cooper, who will
also probably suit up on Sundays, has given him more of a chance to show off that skillset.
With this in mind, we thought it’d be neat to see where NFL media sees him going right now. There’s still a whole draft process to go through, and he has to declare in the first place, but this is a nice snapshot.
