The Ragin’ Cajuns enter the day 1-1 and are coming off a 34-10 win over McNeese State, but they fell 14-12 in their season opener to Rice. Louisiana was projected to finish atop the Sun Belt’s West Division in the preseason poll before losing starting quarterback Walker Howard for the season to an injury
in week one.

- Louisiana’s new starter at quarterback is Daniel Beale, who appeared in the Sun Belt Championship Game and started the New Mexico Bowl after Chandler Fields went down with an injury. Beale was 14-22 for 86 passing yards and a touchdown against McNeese State last week.
