Boston College is three days away from a matchup with Florida State.
The Seminoles will be playing their first game since firing head coach Mike Norvell. The interim coach is Rick Stockstill and he is preparing for a physical game against the Eagles.
“It’s going to be a street fight,” Stockstill said on Wednesday.
“Obviously as we get closer, there will be some schematically things that we’ve got to make sure we’re good at. These two days is to understand how tough and physical this game’s going to be.”
Boston College surpassed its win total from last season already with four but is coming off its worst performance of the year. The Eagles were dominated from the start during a 47-2 loss to Duke on Halloween Day.
Florida State made the move that was anticipated for a long time now following a 36-24 loss to Clemson. Norvell was seemingly on the hot seat since last season and the Seminoles made the move following this latest three-game losing streak.
This will be a challenge for both sides but Boston College has the luxury of playing this game at home. Either way, the Eagles have to be ready for a physical game to be able to match that of Florida State.
“Fans are not going to be cheering you and that’s the mental part,” Stockstill said.
“Anytime you go on the road, you’ve got to pack your toughness. Especially who you’re playing. They pride themselves on physicality. Lunchbox mentality that they have. They’re big, they’re physical, so we’ve got to bring our toughness.”
