What is the story about?
The Los Angeles Clippers have signed former Portland Trail Blazers guard Blake Wesley to a 10-day contract under a hardship provision. Shams Charania of ESPN reported the news this morning.
Wesley played for the Trail Blazers last season after spending three in the San Antonio Spurs organization. The 6’4 guard averaged 4.8 points and 2.0 assists in 11.6 minutes per game over 31 appearances, shooting 45.2% from the floor and 27.8% from the three-point arc.
A hardship provision becomes active when at
least four players have missed three consecutive games and are expected to be out for least two more weeks. The exception allows the team to sign a player to a 10-day deal even if they don’t have an open roster spot.
