New Year’s is a time to turn over new leaves. Apparently the Portland Trail Blazers have decided to get on the bandwagon, as the oft-taciturn team has released a comprehensive injury update report covering
multiple players. The last major update came in November, over a month ago. It indicated that guard Scoot Henderson was progressing following a season-long hamstring injury and that guard Jrue Holiday would be reevaluated in 1-2 weeks for a calf strain. Since then, information has been mostly limited to game-related availability reports.
Here’s the text of the release from the team:
PORTLAND, Ore. (January 1, 2026) – Portland Trail Blazers guard Jrue Holiday has been cleared for a progression of on-court basketball activities as he continues his return-to-play process. Availability will be determined based on functional response to loading and updated accordingly.
While reconditioning for return to play following left thumb ligament surgery, Matisse Thybulle has been working on a progressive ramp up, despite persistent symptoms with right knee tendinopathy. He continues to progress with on-court work and conditioning and his status will be updated as appropriate.
Scoot Henderson has initiated non-contact, on-court basketball activities as he advances to the next phase of rehabilitation for his left hamstring. He will be re-evaluated in two weeks, with updates provided as appropriate.
Jerami Grant is on the team’s road trip and is considered day-to-day with left Achilles tendonitis.
For context, Holiday has missed Portland’s last 22 games, Thybulle has been out for all but 4 this season, Henderson has not been able to play this year, and Grant has missed the last 7 games.
